LISTEN to the free audio format of my award-winning novel here:

AMBRA EMERGED FROM the vault, MAGE sealed and completely disabled behind her.

The blizzard had stopped, but the Arctic wind hurled shards of cold into her face.

She had to get help, had to warn Umiko or Quill or her mother about Necro, but the township was a long way off on foot.

Gazing at the far-off specks of light at Longyearbyen, Ambra’s only option was to set off through the snow, and hope she could raise the alarm before Necro was able to carry out his plan.

Against the wind, she estimated it would take her a good hour or more in this weather to reach the town.

Just put one foot after the other.

Her adrenalin surged as she recalled Jostein’s warning about polar bears; being unarmed, she could only hope luck would be on her side.
